MARIBOR
Maribor is the second largest city in Slovenia. In 2012 it will become the "European Capital of Culture" and the Winter Universiade organizer a year later.
Maribor and its surroundings offer a variety of recreation, relaxation, meetings and visits of cultural events.
We recommend that you get a look at the oldest grapevine in Lent, go to "Grajski Trg" where you can visit the castle and the museum and see the Main Square with the Plague Memorial and Town Hall. In the center of the city you have to visit the art gallery, the theater and take a tour of the Vinag classical wine cellar. During your trip to Maribor you have to stop on the wine-growing hills and enjoy the wonderful nature of Pohorje.
